BLOGGER HELP: 5 Apps To Help With Blogging And Social Media

Hello! I hope everyone has had a fabulous easter weekend, I know I have!

As a new blogger, it can be quite daunting starting your blog, and I am always wanting to find new ways to schedule things and making it all easier for myself. I thought I would share with you my 'go to apps', which help with blogging and Social Media. These apps will help you schedule posts, edit photos, plan your blog posts and much more! I recommend these for every new blogger - they are life savers!! Let's get to it..!

For Planning
  1. Evernote - I use Evernote to plan or write out my blog posts. I also use it to create lists and jot down ideas that come into my mind for new posts, an Instagram photo or a tweet! It's a great app as you can sync it to your computer and phone, so if you are out and about and have an idea pop into your head, you can quickly write it on the app in your phone. I tend to forget things sometimes, so this app has really helped me! Here is what it looks like:

For Scheduling

  1. Buffer - This app I mainly use for Twitter, but you can also use it for Instagram if you wish! You can schedule tweets that you want to post at certain times during the day, e.g. If you know you are busy and want to share a new post, you can schedule the tweets/promos to show during the day. The app also shortens links, which looks a lot tidier! I always buffer my blog post tweets, sending out the link and hashtags in one tweet. Here are some examples of how I use the app for my tweets, and what they look like to my followers:

For Photo Editing
  1. ColourStory - I am sure most bloggers have heard of this app, but if you haven't it is a great app to change lighting on your pictures, or just to apply filters/adjust the pictures to your liking. You can pay for more filters, but most are free. I found out about this app from MariaJBlogs (go check her out if you haven't, her blog has some great tips!!!), and I usually lighten the photo a bit and I will either use the filter 'Everyday' or 'Pop - depending on what I use it for. Here is an example of using the app on a Instagram picture I uploaded:

For Photos On My Blog/Social Media
  1. Canva - My boyfriend told me about this app, and it is great! I use this for the main pictures of my blog post, eg. the picture at the top of this post. You can add text, use your own pictures as the backgrounds and it is so easy to use, as they make the base templates for you. Just choose which platform you are posting it on, and the app gives you banners/templates for that platform, select which one you like then you can change the background picture for your own and change the text accordingly. I cannot recommend this app enough! Here are some examples of my photos made on Canva:

For Tracking Analytics/Stats

  1. Google Drive - Google Drive is your best friend. You can use the app on your phone, and obviously also on your computer. You can also create spreadsheets, word documents (Where you can write out your blog posts), and also sync your phone so that all of your pictures go straight to the google drive (saving you a ton of memory on your phone!). I use Google Drive to keep track of what posts are doing well, how my twitter and insta is doing and my blogging stats. Here is an example of what my Google Drive looks like:

Thank you for reading, and I hope this can help you make the most out of your blogging and social media! Leave a comment letting us know what your favourite app is! :)
Happy Easter!
