It's Time To Stop Caring

In a world where most of us have a constant fear of being liked, or not wanting to be judged, it’s safe to say at one point or another, we have cared.... A lot. However, i’m here to tell you to stop (sounds easy, right?!).

Ever since I was young I wanted to please people, I wanted everyone to like me and this led to a thing called ‘Insecurity’. I think 99% of us have gone through stages of insecurity, it creeps up on us all the time, but sometimes you have to stop and think. This life is so short, why waste time worrying about what others think, you do you and be happy with it, chances are; we are all in the same boat. Trust me, I am not even half way there yet, but I am working on it and i’m here to give you some tips on how to stop giving a sh*t.

THE ONLY PERSON JUDGING YOU IS YOURSELF

  1. When you feel like everyone is looking at you, people are talking about you or judging what you do, most of the time - they aren’t. Shocking I know, but everyone has their own life and chances are they are also worrying about what everyone else thinks of them. When it comes down to it, you are judging yourself, and you need to take a step back and look at your good self!!!! You don’t need to please anyone except you.

STOP DIMMING YOUR LIGHT IN FEAR OF IT BEING TOO BRIGHT.

2. What I mean by this is, you may have a 'dream' but the fear of people judging your dream and seeing you excel in this dream of yours becomes too much for you so you decide to settle, and settling just won’t do. Instead of worrying about those who will want to dim your light, think of those who will be inspired by your dreams, and how you will feel achieving them - remember, it’s YOUR life and no one else's. Don’t settle for anything less than what you want.

BE THANKFUL FOR WHAT YOU HAVE.
3. It can be so easy to focus on the negatives - negative experiences, negative people… you get the jist. At the end of your day, or the beginning, sit and think of all the things you are thankful for, whether it is someone or some thing. You will feel a lot more positive focusing on the good things you have going for you then the negative. Remember, positive thinking attracts positive outcomes.

IT’S OK NOT TO BE PERFECT.
4. It’s cliche but, nobody's perfect. It’s OK to have a day where you stay in bed, don’t achieve anything and eat all the chocolate you have in the house to make yourself feel better. It’s OK to not feel happy every once in a while, life isn’t always great, I understand. However, you have to accept that you are not perfect, and that’s what makes you, you. Everyone is in the same boat, and your flaws could be what someone else loves about you.

Now go and kick this weeks butt.

  3. This is such a wonderful post! I definitely need to be better at not caring that others thing. Though like you said in point 1, generally we are the only ones judging ourselves, and nobody around us cares as much as we think. And if they do- who cares.
